Yacht Charter Italy - Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast offers one of the world’s greatest coastlines for your yacht charter in Italy. The coastal trip from Sorrento to Salerno will leave your mouth open and your film exposed.
Luxury Yacht Charter Amalfi Coast
For a two week charter we suggest starting from the Aeolian Islands – Smouldering volcanoes, bubbling mud baths and steaming fumaroles make these tiny islands north of Sicily a truly hot destination…and the crossing into international waters over to the Amalfi coast will save over 15% of Italian Tax on your charter!
Day 1 Palermo – Filicudi 64nm
Fly into Palermo airport and embark at Palermo. Set sail immediately for the island of Filicudi. Anchor overnight.
Filicudi is a small island of nine square kilometres at the further reaches of the Aeolian archipelago which curves off the north-east coast of Sicily like a comet’s tail. What is most remarkable about this place – apart from its beauty – is the emptiness… Anchored in tranquillity all you might spot ashore is the odd goat, a few houses dotted among the blooming broom and prickly pear trees, and the barest signs of human life in the island’s two miniscule ports. Despite being a mere hop from the party isle of Panarea, most of Filicudi is completely wild.
Day 2 Filicudi – Salina 14nm
Short hop over to islands of Salina. Anchor overnight (or sail a bit further over to the party island of Panarea! This tiny island off the north coast of Sicily – the smallest of the seven-island Aeolian chain – has quietly become the epicenter of the chicest summer scene in the Mediterranean.) Or if you prefer more tranquility for your yacht charter in Italy, then Salina is the green and fertile gem of the Aeolian islands which remains more “off the beaten track”.
Day 3 Salina – Lipari 10nm
Another shop hop to Lipari. Anchor overnight. Lipari is the centre of the Aeolian islands, and has the largest concentration of tourist facilities, including bars, restaurants, shops. Chance to indulge ashore…
Day 4 Lipari – Messina 44nm
Over to mainland Sicily, and in port of Messina overnight.
Messina was founded by the Greeks and is known as the door to Sicily, situated close to the peninsular acting as a busy thoroughfare to the mainland. Primarily a port town, Messina is filled with atmosphere and an incredible ancient history.
Day 5 Messina – Stromboli 44nm
Head north on your yacht charter of the Amalfi coast, to Stromboli. Anchor overnight to watch the fireworks of the active volcano! The island is unique because of the Stromboli Volcano: This continuously active volcano is one of the few in the world where a visitor can see an eruption “up close and personal” most of the time. Due to the absence of a touristic harbor and large hotels the island has kept its original atmosphere: life in this spot of the world is simple and relaxing.
Day 6 Stromboli – Ponza 160nm
Depending on the vessel, take an overnight crossing, or spend the day on the high seas. Anchor at Ponza overnight. Ponza is one of the largest islands of the Amalfi coast, with blue waters and a striking hilly landscape, the island is loved by regular visitors who attempt to keep its charms a secret.
Day 7 Ponza. Spend the day chilling out after the long crossing.
Day 8 Ponza – Ischia 44nm
Gentle trip over to the island of Ponza. In port overnight. Even larger than Ponza, Ischia is considered to be even more beautiful than Capri. There are several towns along the coast, with plenty of excellent restaurants. Previously colonised in turn by the Greeks, Syrausansa, Romans, Saracens, Turks, and Aragonese; it is packed full of history!
Day 9 Ischia – Capri 18nm
Short hop to Capri. In port overnight. Well known as the centre for luxury yachting and the rich and famous around Naples. The main harbour is the place to be seen in the summer, but there is also a great deal to explore inland.
Day 10 Capri – Amalfi 18nm
Another short hop to Amalfi. Anchor overnight. Amalfi is a beautiful town, built into the mountainous coastline, full of charm and atmosphere. This is the ideal relaxing spot to spend the last evening on the mainland.
