The English Rose is a 47-foot luxury blue-water sailing catamaran built in 2004 by Robertson and Caine in South Africa. She accommodates up to six guests and two crew. She is the larger and upgraded version of the older Leopard 45. You will find her to be comfortable, spacious, and with ample headroom all around.
She has three spacious private staterooms for guests, with queen sized double berths, en suite heads and showers. Each cabin also features a large overhead hatch and two portholes providing superb ventilation for when the air-conditioning is not in use. There is a 110v power point and a hairdryer in each cabin plus adjustable reading lamps, fans and full sized hanging lockers with enclosed shelves and plenty of storage. The crew have their own cabin.
The elegantly appointed, spacious and airy lounge area has generous headroom and features comfortable seating for eight at an attractive polished beech table which is perfect for playing games, reading a book, or just sitting back and watching a DVD on the LCD TV. The large, U-shaped galley offers all the amenities needed to prepare gourmet meals, including an oven with grill and hob, large freezer, two refrigerators, ice maker, and a microwave.
Air conditioning is available in every part of the boat powered either by the onboard power generator, or shore power where available. There are three separate air-conditioning units, one for the lounge, one for the forward staterooms, and one for the aft staterooms.
There are a total of 26 hatches and portholes for ventilation, window shades and fans in every cabin and the lounge, all of which help to keep the boat cool and well ventilated when the air conditioning is not in use.
The aft cockpit could be described as a huge patio: it’s a great place to enjoy your cocktails and meals while taking in the ever changing view, or relaxing and listening to your favourite music when at anchor or while under sail. It can comfortably accommodate 10 or more people, features an extendable 8-person dining table and has direct walk through access onto the 24-foot by 3 foot swim platform with BBQ and transom steps down to the swim ladder and fresh watershower for rinsing off after your swim.
